Photo shoot for a book launch promotion ~ Philli Overton

Okay, there's no points for connecting the dots on this one. Stepping away from a career as an author has involved a subtle rebranding on my part to keep my writing separate from my future plans of where I want to take my photography. So, this photo shoot was a case of the photographer launching into a new career, by photographing the last book release in the field they were leaving behind.

The image was one of the last captured on my Olympus E-M10 camera before I upgraded to the E-M10MkIV, and captured image was then edited in Adobe Photoshop to remove the background and replace it with the below interior image of a bar. The new background transformed the message of the photo from a tableside event shot in the privacy of the author's home, to the anticipation of a public book launch prior to the guests arriving at the venue.

Revamp An Existing Layout is the 6th and final instalment in the series of book by the author, and the extra detail afforded the photo shoot for the launch of the book is one that will have lasting impact long after the above wine and cheese platter has long disappeared from memory.
